Vineyards & Viticulture

Vineyard &
Viticulture Overview

We believe the vineyard speaks first. Our role is to listen — to farm in a way that keeps the land healthy, generous, and true to itself, and to make decisions in the cellar that honor what the vines have already said. Guided by biodynamic principles, we work in rhythm with the natural cycles of the estate, tending the soil as a living system and trusting that health below the surface finds its way into the glass.

Each of our eighteen blocks is farmed individually, shaped by its own character and its particular needs in any given season. We follow nature's lead, observing closely and responding with the knowledge that only comes from stewarding the same land across many decades. That depth of understanding does not belong to one person — it lives in a team bound by an uncompromising commitment to excellence, to the quiet refinement of their craft with every passing season, and with every single vine on the estate. A shared conviction that the finest wines are revealed.

The vineyard unfolds across twenty acres planted around the family home and winery, set on a singular plateau where gently rising hillsides open the vines to sun and wind in equal measure. This varied topography, combined with a remarkable geological foundation — iron-rich volcanic soils threaded with clay and ancient stone — gives the estate an uncommon diversity of expression. It was this richness of place that led Naoko and Gustav to compose their plantings with intention: 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot, each variety finding its footing in the land that suits it best.
